This article covers the settings options for password configuration for both admin and member accounts. To update any of the below settings, please submit a support request.
Password Requirements
Fuel Cycle customers can require their admin or member accounts to create passwords with a specified security level.
The password security level for both admin and member accounts is automatically set to the below default requirements:
- LOW—Minimum 6 characters, one upper case, and one lower case
- MEDIUM—Minimum 8 characters, one upper case, one lower case, and one number
- HIGH (DEFAULT)—Minimum 8 characters, one upper case, one lower case, one number, and one special character (e.g. !%&@#$^*?_~)
- HIGH (14 characters)—Minimum 14 characters, one upper case, one lower case, one number, and one special character (e.g. !%&@#$^*?_~)
- EXTREME (12 characters)—Minimum 12 characters, one upper case, one lower case, one number, one special character (e.g. !%&@#$^*?_~), prohibits consecutive characters or keyboard patterns (e.g., "1234" or "qwerty"), no dictionary words or common phrases
Password Reset
Fuel Cycle customers can require admin accounts to change their passwords at any of the below intervals:
- Never (DEFAULT)
- 30 Days
- 60 Days
- 90 Days
- 120 Days
Fuel Cycle customers can prevent admins from reusing a password that has been used the previous number of times:
- Never (DEFAULT)
- One
- Two
- Three
- Five
- Ten
Password Lockout
Fuel Cycle customers can lockout both admin or member accounts after the below number of failed login attempts:
- Never (DEFAULT FOR ADMINS)
- One
- Two
- Three
- Five (DEFAULT FOR MEMBERS)
- Ten
