Badges Follow

Badges are often used to recognize achievements, encourage member behaviors, recognize identities, and motivate them to achieve goals.

In Fuel Cycle's Gamification system, Badges can be configured to automatically display on members' rewards page when they qualify for some criteria or they can display for every member.

Badges have no point or monetary value and cannot therefore be redeemed.

Badges instead of Points or Rewards

This functionality assumes your organization will use Badges for encouragement instead of Gift Rewards or Points. Therefore, make sure that in the configuration of your Gamification Settings, you do the following...

• Deactivate your Actions & Points and Points History settings
• Hide Points from your Activity Cards
• Deactivate your Rewards and Rewards History settings
• Change your Rewards Label to reference Badges
• Add content to your Rewards Instructions to describe your Badge program

Create a Badge

To create a badge...

1. Go to the Gamification > Custom Rewards tab.
   
   
2. Select the + icon to create a new custom reward.
3. Select Badge for the Reward Type.
4. The following fields are required:
   • Reward Name—This will appear on the community's member and moderator sides.
   • Reward Description—This is visible only in the community catalog and does not appear on the moderator side.
   • Reward Image—This will appear in the community catalog. The image needs to be 180 x 180 pixels.
   • Visibility Status—This field affects whether you can see the badge in the community catalog. You can choose to list the Visibility Status as either Visible or Hidden.
   • Access Type—You may choose to have a reward available to the entire community or specific Dynamic groups only.

Once you save your Badge, it will be available instantaneously to any member who meets the Access Type criteria.
