Create a Raffle Quest Follow
Create an activity that adds members who completed it into a drawing for a prize and randomly select the winners:
- Create a Quest Raffle Reward (the prize)
- Create a Raffle Quest to link the reward and activity logic together
Before you begin, make sure you’ve already created the Activity as well as the Survey and linked it to the Activity.
Create a Quest Raffle Reward
- Click Gamification on the side menu.
- Click the Rewards tab at the top.
- Click on the Add New Reward icon to create a new reward.
- Make sure to set the Reward redemption type as Quest Raffle so that it can be used in a quest.
- Set the Visibility Status to Hidden if you don’t want this reward to be visible to all members.
- Set the Rewards available to the number of winners you plan to have.
- Once you’ve completed the details, click Create.
Create a Raffle Quest
- Click Gamification on the side menu.
- Click the Quests tab at the top.
- Click on the + button (Add New Quest) to create a new quest.
- Set the Quest type to Raffle.
- Remember that the Quest name/description is only visible to moderators internally.
- The Quest start date and Quest end date represent the period that the member has to complete the survey. The End date should be the same as the End date for the activity itself.
- Set the Raffle date as the date when the system will randomly choose the winner(s).
- Click Save & Continue to continue to the Actions and Logic step.
- On the Actions and Logic step:
- From the Action dropdown menu, select Take activity survey
Note: If you want another action to trigger the qualification, you can do that too. Several actions can trigger a qualification. - In the Activity field, start typing the Activity Name and it will auto-suggest it automatically. When you see the Activity, click it to select it.
- Set the Start date and End date for the period in which members who can participate in this Activity Survey can qualify to be entered to win. It’s best to set them to match your Activity’s start and end dates.
- In most cases, you can leave the Minimum count as 1, so members qualify after completing the survey one time.
- From the Action dropdown menu, select Take activity survey
- Click Save & Continue to continue to the Rewards
- On the Rewards step:
- Set Reward visibility to Hidden if you don’t want community members to see the reward on the Rewards page.
- Note: Quest Rewards are set to visible show to members but display as a quest reward and cannot be redeemed with points. You can show the quest reward to members if you want them to see what they could win by participating.
- If the reward visibility is Hidden, it will display to the winning members who can then redeem the reward.
- Set the Days to expiration as the number of days the member has to redeem their reward.
- In the Set reward(s) field, start typing Reward Title to get an auto-suggestion and then select it from the dropdown menu.
- Set Reward visibility to Hidden if you don’t want community members to see the reward on the Rewards page.
- Once you’re done with this, click Save and Publish to publish your quest.
After these steps, your Reward should be created and the Quest Raffle should be linked up with your Activity and Activity Survey. It’s a good idea to double-check the dates to make sure they’re all in sync.
FAQ's
What happens on the Raffle Date?
The winners are automatically selected at random from all eligible members and the reward automatically unlocks for the winners only. You can go into Quest View after the raffle is complete, and there will be an Export link that you can click to export the winners, whom you can then email and notify.
Please note: At this time, we do not send an automatic email notification to raffle winners. We recommend that you email the winners directly so that they know there is a reward available for them to redeem.
What if the Activity has more than one survey attached?
If there is more than one survey attached, it will count any of the survey completions as a qualifier for entering the member into the drawing, unless you set the Minimum count to greater than one.
For example, if you have two surveys and you only want members who complete both to be qualified, then you must set the Minimum count to 2.
