Filter your survey results on an individual survey question and its potential answer options. Applying this filter to your results will update chart visuals and the underlying export data based on the applied filter.
Question & Answer Filter Logic Operators
Apply logic operators to your selected survey question, depending on the question type.
- is exactly equal to—Filter your report based on an exact answer match specified.
- is not exactly equal to—This is the opposite of "is exactly equal to".
- is one of the following answers—Filter report based on if ANY of the answers selected in the logic criteria are matched.
- is not one of the following answers—This is the opposite of "is one of the following answers".
- is answered—Filter your report based on if the selected question was answered by a respondent.
- is not answered—This is the opposite of "is answered".
- greater than—Filter your report based on if the respondent answered a question with a numerical value greater than (but not equal to) the numerical criteria indicated.
- greater than or equal to—Filter your report based on if the respondent answered a question with a numerical value greater than or equal to the numerical criteria indicated.
- less than—Filter your report based on if the respondent answered a question with a numerical value less than (but not equal to) the numerical criteria indicated.
- less than or equal to—Filter your report based on if the respondent answered a question with a numerical value greater than or equal to the numerical criteria indicated.
Please note: slider question types will accept multiple numerical parameters as comma-separated values.
Use the OR button to add another filter that is exclusionary: EITHER filter1 OR filter2 is true. Remove that filter by clicking the X button on the right side of the filter.
Use the + button to add an AND filter that is inclusionary: BOTH filter1 AND filter2 must be true. Remove that filter by clicking the X button on the right side of the filter.
Click the orange Add Block button to add another filter block. For example, consider the following complex logic:
There are two blocks of filters.
- In the first block, there are two statements, EITHER of which may be true (OR statement).
- In the second block, there is only one statement.
- BOTH must be true (AND statement) to be part of the results.
After selecting a question and logic operator, select any answer options of interest and click Apply to set your filter, or Reset to filter by another question.
Once a filter is applied to your report, you can also reset the filter by clicking on Reset on the top reporting header.
Please note: once a filter is applied to your report results, you can export the chart visuals and/or underlying Excel data with the filter parameters applied.
Filter by Group
You may want to view only the responses from a particular group, such as a specific member segment or recruitment audience. Apply Filter by Group to your results to update your chart visuals and the underlying export data based on the applied filter. You can only filter by Group or by the advanced AND/OR filter but not both.Â
You can filter on either dynamic or static groups, but you may only select one group as a filter.
Group Filter Logic Operators
Apply logic operators to your selected survey question, depending on the way you constructed your group.
- Include Members—Include only members who are qualified to be part of your group.
- Exclude Members—Exclude only members who are qualified to be part of your group.
