Edit a Survey after Import Follow
If you edit any part of a survey after importing it, you must re-import the survey.
The reason for this is that the Fuel Cycle platform does not automatically get notified of any changes unless you go through the full import process after a change.
Tips for Editing a Survey
- If you need to remove a question response option and add a new one, first delete the response you don’t want and save the survey. Then, add the new response option and save.
- If you need to change a question type (for example, from radio buttons to dropdown), first delete the question and save the survey. Then create the question in the new type/format and save it.
The above tips are to help with data integrity because if members have already answered the survey and you then edit a question or response option, it could change the data for the previous respondents if you don’t follow the steps above.
Finally, when you are done making changes to the survey, you need to copy the survey link from the “Distributions” tab under "Anonymous Link" and paste it into the import survey field at the top of the page. Go through the survey again and click the “Import Survey” button when done. Fuel Cycle will now have the updates to the survey and will record future responses correctly. Any responses received before the survey was edited will still be valid and available.
