To participate in a Moderated Study using Safari on macOS, you must allow access to your microphone, camera, and screen. This article explains how to grant these permissions.

Click the session link provided by the researcher or platform.
You’ll land on a study overview page. Click Continue to proceed.
Enter your Name and Email address, then click Continue. These are used for identification and session management.
Safari will prompt:
"Allow participant.fuelcyclecore.com to access your microphone and camera?" Click Allow.
You’ll see a preview screen where you can turn your microphone and camera on or off before joining the session.
Safari will prompt: "Allow participant.fuelcyclecore.com to share your screen?"

Choose based on what you want to share:
- Share Window
  1. Click Allow to share window.
  2. In the system dialog, select the application window you want to share.
  3. Click Share This window.
- Share Entire Screen
  1. Click Allow to share screen.
  2. In the system dialog, select Full Screen.
  3. Click Share entire screen.

If You Previously Denied Permissions

If you previously blocked access, Safari will prompt you again. Choose:

Always Ask — to allow Safari to prompt again
Never for This Website — to block it permanently

To continue, select Always Ask, then click Allow when prompted.

Manually Enable Permissions in Safari

If Safari doesn't prompt you—or if you previously denied access—you can update your settings manually:

Open Safari.
In the top menu bar, click Safari Settings.
Go to the Websites tab.
In the left-hand panel, select each of the following:
- Camera
- Microphone
- Screen Sharing
In each section, find participant.fuelcyclecore.com in the list on the right.
For each, change the dropdown to Allow.
Close the Settings window.
Refresh the page to apply the changes.

If participant.fuelcyclecore.com doesn't appear in the list, revisit the session link and try interacting with the camera, mic, or screen-sharing prompt again. Safari should then add the site to your settings.
