Some studies on the Fuel Cycle platform are designed to be accessed exclusively on mobile devices via the Voices by Fuel Cycle app. This article covers the full experience for moderated live interviews.
What You'll See
When you are scheduled for a live interview, you will receive a confirmation email with:
- The session date and time
- A calendar file to add the interview to your preferred calendar
- A join link
- Any special instructions from your moderator
If you are viewing this message on a computer and prefer to join on your mobile device, you must switch to your mobile phone to continue.
How to Participate
- Install the app. If you plan to join on a mobile device, download the Voices by Fuel Cycle app from your app store first:
- Google Play for Android
- Apple App Store for iOS
- Open the join link. Tap the join link in your confirmation email. You will land on a page with links to download the Voices by Fuel Cycle app. If you have already downloaded it, tap the link under step two to open the app directly.
- Start the app. Once the app opens, tap Let's Get Started when you are ready to begin.
- Accept the user agreement. Read the user agreement and tap Accept at the bottom of the screen to continue.
- Enter your contact details. Fill in your contact information and tap Continue.
- Configure your device settings. Enable camera and microphone access when prompted.
- Join the session. Tap Join Session. You will enter a waiting room. Wait a few moments for the moderator to admit you to the interview. Once admitted, your device and session controls appear at the bottom of the screen.
Screen Sharing
If the moderator asks you to share your screen during the interview:
- Tap the middle icon at the bottom of the interview screen.
- In the screen broadcast pop-up, select Voices by Fuel Cycle.
- Tap Start Broadcast.
Important Note
Do not open the app directly. The study will not appear when you search for it in the app. You must use the join link from your confirmation email to launch the interview in the app.
