Community Image Design Specs

Overview

When setting up or branding your Fuel Cycle research community, you'll need to provide images in several locations. This article outlines the specifications for each image type so your assets display correctly across the platform.

Tip: Whenever possible, source images at the preferred (larger) dimensions listed below. High-resolution images scale down cleanly; low-resolution images cannot be upscaled without quality loss.

Community Logo

The community logo is used to brand your community and appears in the top navigation bar of the member-facing site.

Mobile App Icon

The mobile app icon mirrors your community logo and is what members see on their phone screen after downloading the Fuel Cycle community app.

Browser Icon (Favicon)

The favicon is a small square image that displays next to your community's page title in browser tabs and in other locations across the web.

Login Page Image (Optional)

The login page image displays above the "Introduction to the community" blurb on the member login page.

Background Image (Optional)

The background image displays behind the content on the community homepage. A solid-color background can be used instead of an image.

Featured Image

The featured image displays across the top of the member-facing community homepage. Featured activities are shown in the homepage carousel in large format. High-quality images work best. Both JPG and PNG formats are supported.

Activity Card Image

The activity card image displays in all list views in the community, on the homepage, and inside topics. You can also feature activities on the homepage carousel. We recommend sourcing between 10 and 20 images to start your community.

Note: We recommend having images that meet both the Activity Card Image and Featured Image specs so any image can be used in either context.

Images on Activity Landing Pages

Images, videos, and other file types can be embedded directly on the landing page of individual activity cards.

Topics/Categories Landing Page Image (Optional)

When creating a category or topic, you can add a description and a header image. Both will appear to members when they click on that specific topic or category.
