Mobile App Updates
Insight Reels Update
Insight Reels programming has changed to remove the need for keyword-based logic so that the reels can be displayed as activities.
Survey Alias
Name your survey as you wish for members to see it. This step allows you to conceal your internal naming conventions.
Bug Fixes
- Resolved an issue where Quantitative Report AI Summaries were not generating properly.
New Campaign Export Type Showing Member-Level Data
- On the email campaigns export page, moderators can request member-level data (such as username and email address) for all email campaigns in the past 30 days.
Campaigns List Page Download
- Moderators can now download the list of all "Completed" campaigns with a single click, including the data displayed on the listing page.
Email Export / Download on Demand
Moderators can export/download all campaigns in two ways:
-
Within 30 Days of the Send Date
Clicking the Export action takes the moderator to the customizable "Create export for email campaign” page. After specifying fields such as the export name, group membership data, or P2 data, the moderator clicks “Request Export,” gets redirected to the exports listing page, and must wait for the export to be ready to be downloaded. -
30 Days After the Send Date
Clicking the Export action prompts an immediate download of an Excel workbook. Previously, email campaign exports were only available for 30 days after sending.
April 2024

ADA Updates
Navigation Bar Icons
For communities where Userway is enabled, the user can now use the tab key to navigate through the header icons: Search, Announcements, and then Account Settings.
Rewards Page Tabs
Members can now use the tab key to navigate through the four tabs on the rewards page. Additionally, the color for the border and text match the one in “button font color” set in the community settings.
Update to Live Events Upcoming Filter View
We fixed an issue where upcoming Live Events were not displaying properly.
Reset a Member's Password
Moderators can now click a button in a member's Edit screen that sends a System Email to reset their password.
Dashboard Button to Research Engine
The Go to Research Engine button on the Dashboard has been updated with a vibrant shade of purple to highlight the benefits of the Research Engine.
New Login Settings
There are now two new, alternative login settings available for your community login experience:
- Your community may now be configured so members can receive a direct, passwordless login link via email to access the community.
- Your community may now be configured so members can log in using either username or email address. "Email" will be the default input if the username input setting is not enabled. "Username or Email" if the username input setting is enabled.
Contact your Fuel Cycle representative to request activation of either login setting, which is not activated by default.
Release Notes Added to Left Menu Bar
A new button at the bottom left in the Menu Bar links to this Community Help Center article that announces Fuel Cycle release notes.
March 2024
Bug Fixes
- Phone number editing was not working properly on the Account Settings page.
- Users were not able to submit the answer choice for single-select quick polls even if they clicked "Submit".
- The SMS Campaigns Page and subsequent export "Summary" tab showed zero "Sent" and "Clicked" stats for all communities. This has been fixed to show the correct stats.
- When saving a dynamic group containing the "Static Group" criterion, other information disappeared (the Membership Verification, the Total Linked Activities info, the Save CTA, and the Export Member List CTA). This has been fixed so that they still display as expected.
New Universal Connections through FCX
Run a project with any partners and tools that are not fully integrated with Fuel Cycle. This helps decrease manual project setup time and helps increase the adoption of FCX partnerships.
Members access an activity linked to an FCX External Study, they are routed outside of the Fuel Cycle platform to the external study, and back upon completion. Moderators can create an external FCX study type by adding a new study, providing a study title, study URL, and retake flag.
External FCX studies can be attached to the activity creation landing page block. Points can also be assigned for either full or partial completion. The completion statuses to determine point association are determined from the redirect URL.
New Live Events Add-ons
When clients activate Live Events using our partners at discuss.io, three new features can be activated at that time:
- Mobile Screen Share (MSS)
- Self-Capture (Diaries)
- Genie AI Summary
By default, the Genie AI summary is enabled at no charge. Self Capture pricing is currently the same as upload pricing (1 hour of uploads = 1 token).
New Dynamic Group Criterion: User Activation
Moderators can now create dynamic groups using User Activation status.
- Did—Users who have activated
- Did Not—Users who have not yet activated
Terminated Recruitment Exports
Moderators can now export terminated recruitment campaigns to access data collected up until termination, replacing the previous limitation of only exporting completed recruitments.
February 2024
Bug Fixes
- Fixed labels in the Help Center Bot:
- When creating a dynamic group with the “Complete Poll” criterion, polls would not show up in the search/dropdown box. This has been fixed.
Attachments as Thumbnails in Excel Exports
Moderators can view thumbnail previews of uploaded media in an activity's export. Previews are available under a column labeled Preview Media.
- Moderators can identify which image/video submission belongs to whom.
- Moderators can see profile data associated with that member in the Comments tab.
Asset Library API for Secure PII Uploads
Clients can securely import PII (Personal Identifiable Information) files to the Asset Library using our Public API. The API supports a maximum size limit of 100 MB.
AI-Generated Qualitative Report Summary
What used to take days to accomplish can now be compressed into a couple of minutes! Use Fuel Cycle AI to generate a summary of the discussion comments in your activities.
Text Option for Quick Polls/Profile Questions
Moderators can now enable a text-answer option for quick polls or profile questions through a checkbox. These text options cannot be blank. Text-answer options have a 50-character limit and allow special characters, but not emojis.
New Batch Update: Member Account
Moderators can now use the Member Account batch update type to change member information.
You may also use any batch update CSV file to update data through our API.
December 2023
Dynamic Group Criteria/Condition Expansion
Moderators can now choose from a selection of 21 criteria when creating a dynamic group. New criteria include:
- Join Date
- RSVP to Live Event
- Poll Response
- Complete Survey
- Survey Question
- Static Group
November 2023
Randomize the Order of Community Email Sends
Email campaign delivery is now randomized so that the same members are not getting your emails first (such as the first 500 alphabetical members getting emails every time). Email batches will now be randomized so that a diverse group of members can be reached first; this is especially useful for clients sending large volumes of emails.
Verify your distribution list by clicking on the download icon next to the recipient group name in the campaigns listing page under the “Recipients” column.
Partner Rewards—Currency Code and Language Options
Moderators can now assign both a language and a currency code to a new Tremendous reward. Moderators can also edit language, currency code, and reward cost fields in an existing reward. Members can see the Tremendous catalog in the language programmed into the reward and redeem a reward in each currency.
- Currency is required, defaults to USD, and is editable in an existing reward.
- Language is required, defaults to English, and is editable in an existing reward.
Request Any Export Drop-Down
Moderators can now generate the following export types directly from the exports page:
- Activity
- Email Campaign
- SMS Campaign
- Live Chat
- Member
- Member Forum
- Member Posts
- Member Participation
- Redemption
- Survey
All types except Member, Member Participation, and Redemption prompt you to search for the export or "select from drop-down". For Member, Member Participation, and Redemption types, just click Submit.
Export only Published/Closed activities and Closed Live Chats (not drafts).
October 2023
Chat-style Alchemer Surveys
Fuel Cycle offers a survey template in Alchemer that resembles an SMS-style chat. Chat style surveys—also known as conversational surveys—offer a wide range of benefits: Please contact your Fuel Cycle representative to have them add the Chat Style Survey Template to your Alchemer account.
Enable Automated Activation Reminders in Recruitment Set-Up
Moderators can now enable activation reminder emails when setting up the recruitment URL. This auto-send is for members who have signed up but have not activated their account yet, and the emails will be sent in the following increments: 1 day, 3 days, and 7 days after account creation.
Send Activation Reminder by Recruitment Link
Moderators can now select “Send Activation Reminder” in the actions drop-down menu for recruitments in the recruitment listing page in order to send reminders to members who joined from the particular recruitment but have not yet activated.
Randomizing & Anchoring Poll Answer Options
Users can now randomize the order of poll answer options displayed to members and choose options not to randomize (anchoring). Enable randomization by checking a box labeled "Enable randomization". Anchor each answer by checking a box with the lock icon. This applies to quick polls and profile questions (all polls).
Survey Imported Date Displayed in Type to Search for Survey
Users can now search to select a survey and see the imported date at the end of the listing (for example, CSAT Survey (07/29/2023)). This applies when attaching the survey to an activity, P2 field, and export. The imported date format is consistent with the community's saved date format setting.
September 2023
Export Files Renamed
- There is a new naming convention for exported files: Type_Created_ExportName. For instance, Member_092123_AllMembers.
- This will enable you to open multiple exports of the same type at the same time conveniently.
- Please be aware that while Excel files within zip folders follow this naming convention, the zip file names themselves do not.
Multi-Select Questions Available Through Batch Update
- Users can now upload multi-select questions via CSV file using the Member External Data batch update type.
- For full details on how to format questions, see the updated template.
Copy Polls
- Users can now copy a poll from the Actions drop-down on the Polls listing page.
- This only applies to custom polls. The copied poll will not be created until 'Save' is clicked from the edit page — just clicking Copy does not immediately create a new poll.
More Details When Searching for Polls
- When searching for polls to attach, you can use their reference labels or question labels in all listed and attached areas.
- The drop-down list view also displays the creation date of the poll, providing more context.
Updates to Polls Listing Page
- On the Polls listing page, you'll now see two new columns labeled Reference and Created Date. The Name column has been renamed to Question.
- This updated layout enables you to sort Polls based on the reference label, question label, or creation date. You can also search for specific Polls by using either their reference or question labels.
August 2023
Set-Up Reminder Emails in Original Email
- When scheduling email campaigns, users can now set up reminder emails by clicking the "Send Reminder" toggle on the "Schedule" page. This creates a copy of the initial email and adds "Reminder:" to the subject line.
Mobile Number in Exports
- Mobile numbers collected during registration, whether for verification or SMS, are now included in the account information exports.
Expanded Mobile Phone Number Caps + Country Codes
- The mobile verification feature now allows users to select their country code from a drop-down menu and input phone numbers up to 15 digits long.
Type to Search when Attaching Surveys to Activities
- When attaching a survey to an activity, users can now search by typing instead of scrolling through a drop-down.
Delta Testing API Update
- We no longer limit the number of images or videos that can be sent through the API, instead capping the total file size at 100 MB.
Research Engine Projects in Activities List
-
Projects created in The Research Engine will show on your Activities listing page in purple for mods who have access to them. To access The Research Engine project, click on the purple link. If a moderator cannot access The Research Engine, the link will appear grey and display a message when you hover your mouse over the link, indicating that it cannot be clicked or opened.
Member Registration/Account Settings form Updates:
- Community Members can now see criteria for usernames under the username field in forms.
- Username must be between 6-30 characters
- The criteria for passwords are now displayed below the password field instead of in an overlay.
- This password requirement is dynamic and can vary by community. Still, the most common standard is a minimum of 8 characters, including at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character (for example, ! % & @ # $ ^ * ? _ ~).

Archive Polls & Surveys:
- Moderators can now Archive Polls & Surveys on the respective listing pages.
- When attaching surveys to an activity, Archive removes the Poll or Survey from the drop-down list and cleans up the listing pages.
- Archiving a Poll or Survey will not change any functionality to an activity if archived by accident.
Points and Redemption Maximums:
- Moderators can now set maximums for daily/monthly/yearly points EARNED and REDEEMED.
- When a member reaches the points EARNED maximum:
- This information will be visible to the moderator in the "Member Points" section.
- This will be displayed as a maximum points adjustment on the member's Points History page.
- This information will be visible to the moderator in the "Member Points" section.
- When a member reaches the points REDEEMED maximum:
- This information will be shown to the moderator in the new "Redemption Maximums" tab.
- This will prevent members from redeeming more rewards by displaying a message on the main rewards page.
- This information will be shown to the moderator in the new "Redemption Maximums" tab.
Minor Updates to Live Chat & Delta Testing Details Pages:
- In preparation for Live Chats and Delta Tests as featured activities, we updated their setup pages with new images, buttons, and colors. More to come!
ADA Compliance Updates:
- For ADA compliance, we've made drop-down menus keyboard accessible, improved account form messaging, and simplified text formatting options in text boxes.
July 2023
-
Tremendous Now Capturing UserID—Users can now see a member's UserID in Tremendous within the redeemed Reward. This allows you to match a reward to a member that uses a different email address to redeem than what's registered to their community account.
-
Session Time Out Pop-Up
- We've re-enabled the session time-out pop-up message to improve our ADA compliance.
- Members will receive a pop-up when their session is 5 minutes from expiring alerting them of how much time they have left (in seconds) from their session timing out. The pop-up contains the option to stay logged in.
- Session time-out occurs when a member hasn't refreshed or changed pages within that amount of time.
- All communities are set to a session time-out time of 60 minutes. This can be changed at any time via ticket request.
-
Require Scroll to Accept Terms and Conditions—Users can now require members to scroll through the Terms & Conditions/Rule of Participation at registration before they can accept them. Enable this under Settings > Labels > Terms & Conditions, Agree to Terms Label.
-
Mass Update Email Campaigns—Users can now Archive/Unarchive or Delete email campaigns in bulk. Use the Communications Center > Campaigns tab dashboard filters to find campaigns, check the box on the rows to affect, and use the Actions drop-down to affect them all at the same time.
-
Mass Update Member Support Tickets—Users can now update member support tickets in bulk.
- Mark as Unread or Archive/Unarchive many tickets at once.
- Users cannot mass update to Mark as Read since users need to read all support messages.
-
Member First and Last Name Ordering—Users can now display the last name before the first name on the registration page for international audiences. Change this within Members > Profile Settings.
-
Member Forums Activity Card Updates—Users can now display Member Forum activity cards like regular activity cards by adding an image and activity card description.
- If an image is added, the card displays as a regular activity card with an image, title & description, points icon, "New" indicator, published date, and member posts count.
- If an image is not added, the card will display in the legacy view.
-
Mobile App Multi-Step Activities—Create a mobile (iOS or Android-compatible) activity where members can answer questions and upload images and videos in a step-by-step (multi-prompt) process. This functionality is available to Fuel Cycle customers who have Research or CM hours available.
June 2023
-
Survey Open-Ends in Qual Reporting
- There's now a new tab in Qualitative Reporting for Survey Open-Ends.
- Each open-end must first be enabled to be submitted to IBM Watson for processing.
- Processing the open-ends can take a few minutes, and varies based on survey response counts.
- Once processed, data will begin to populate the Reporting & Responses tabs.
- Note: Responses must be longer than 20 characters to be eligible for text analytics, so Keywords and Entities will not display for smaller responses.
-
Separate User ID Field Now Passing to all Survey Tools
- UserID is now passing as a distinct field to all survey tools. Previously, it was passed either in the background or within another data string.
- Qualtrics: Displays as "UserId" in Embedded Data.
- Alchemer: Displays as "userid" in URL Variables.
- UserID is now passing as a distinct field to all survey tools. Previously, it was passed either in the background or within another data string.

- Did/Did Not Complete Poll (any Poll type)
- Added exclusionary logic
- File Naming for Media in Zip Files—Media downloaded in zip files are now labeled with UserID to make the files easier to identify during analysis.
-
Points Added to Listing Pages—In Activities and Member Forums, the Points columns on listing pages now display and download the max points offered for that project. Previously this said Yes/No. The column is now also labeled with a Gift icon rather than the "Point(s)" label.
May 2023
-
Tremendous: Add Different Catalogs via Campaign ID—Mods can now link different catalogs in each Partner reward.
- Campaign ID (the catalog created in Tremendous) was added to rewards creation.
- Rewards are auto-populated with the default campaign ID set-up at integration, but this field can be updated if mods wish to offer a customized catalog for that particular reward (for example, country-specific catalogs, cash payout options catalog that charges more points to cover fees).
- Campaign ID (the catalog created in Tremendous) was added to rewards creation.
-
Copying Dynamic Groups—Moderators can now copy Dynamic groups to carry over the logic of one group, adding on to it to create a new group. If a group is set to “Push”, this setting is not copied over into the new group to prevent mods from inadvertently “pushing” another group to their survey tool.
ALERT: This is only available for Dynamic groups as Static groups prove too cumbersome to copy due to the one-by-one addition of each member. We recommend downloading the static group list, adding members to the file, and importing the new list to create a copy of a Static group
-
Privacy Page Customization—Mods can now update the main labels on the Privacy page sections.
These pages also now have anchor links. Should you need to hyperlink to any particular page, simply right-click to copy the URL, such as
https://productuat-community.fuelcyclestage.com/privacy#panel-overview -
Live Events Update—There is now just one button to create standard or FC Live events. Choose between the two Event types after clicking Create New.
After creating an interview with the timeslot in Discuss, copy the session ID and paste it into the Schedule tab to generate the timeslot and all links.

-
Recruitment Links—Update to Expired Messaging
The expired messaging programmed when creating a recruitment URL now displays when links are either expired or disabled. Previously, disabled links did not have any custom messaging appear, only expired links. -
New Activity Field—Add to Objective
Select the Objective which most closely fits with the goal of the research project. Select Other if one does not fit. If the project is not for research, select Community Admin.
-
Mobile App Updates

April 2023
-
New APIs Available
-
P2 Engine Fields in Exports Update—When appending P2 fields to an export file, Moderators can now request to export the question text of the P2 fields rather than the reference text. This allows for cleaner exports that do not include any underscores (for example, "Marital_Status" becomes "Marital Status"). The export request will default to the reference text setting to not disrupt current client processes. Select Export message text when setting up your export to show the cleaner labels.
-
No Longer Collecting Contact Info During Rewards Redemption—Members are no longer required to provide a mailing address when redeeming their first reward in the community. This was a previous requirement to combat redemption fraud. Combatting redemption fraud is now addressed in other ways.
-
Moderator Details—When creating Moderator accounts, First and Last names are now required. To populate the name for all existing Moderators, Moderators will be prompted to update this at their next login. Pop-up Instructions have been added to instruct what to do.
-

- Updated Category Default Sort Order—On the main Delta Testing category page, Delta Testing projects now default sort by Published Date, newest to oldest.

- Updated Ticket Search—The search on the Delta Testing ticket listing page was expanded to include searching by username and description.
- Filter by "My Tickets"—There is a new toggle filter available to only see tickets the logged-in user is the author of. Available in both the Mod and Member interfaces.
-
Allow Delete Comments—Moderators can now delete comments within Delta Testing tickets (within the Fuel Cycle moderator screen only). Members can now delete their own comments within the Member interface.
-
Allow Up/Down Voting Changes—Members and Mods can now change their votes within Delta Testing. Previously members were locked into their initial vote choice.
March 2023
- Profane Comment Auto-Flag—When a community enables a profanity filter, any comment that contains a profane word will now be flagged automatically. This enables mods to filter by flagged comments so they can monitor any profanity. Those automatically flagged comments will reference “system_mod” as the flagger and will have a “Profanity Auto-Flag” tag.
-
Mobile App Redesign—The Community mobile app has been redesigned for a more modern appearance and ease of use.
Home Page
Announcements
Delta Testing
- The mobile app now includes Live Events, so members will no longer have to launch Events (including FC Live) through the browser.
February 2023
- Dormant members added—On the Member Dashboard under Cohort Analysis, the graphs now account for Active, Inactive, and Dormant members.
- Discovery tab renamed to Reporting—In preparation for updates to our reporting module, this tab name was changed to better describe the functionality that exists within that tab.
- FC Analytics is now the landing page for Reporting.
-
Live Events—In conjunction with updates to our FC Live tool, we've combined FC Live and Events into one tab: Live Events.
- The location programming has moved to the Schedule tab for setting up a Live Event so that users can now have a unique location for each event time slot.
- Members can now join any Live Event (both FC Live and non-FC-Live) from the landing of the activity. Previously this was only available for FC Live Events.
-
Delta Testing
- Landing Page—Delta Testing activities can now have landing page content above the ticketing list. This programming functions exactly like the landing page step of activity creation, except you may only add Text and File blocks. There is also no longer a static label of “Delta Test” before each title. Please note, due to the width of the page caused by the ticketing list, text content does look best when center-aligned.
- Customize Call-to-Action—Moderators can now customize the call-to-action button text, previously listed as "Submit a ticket".
-
Members may now only redeem points once they have activated their account. Members can still earn points on login polls before activating their account, but they will see a message on their rewards page until they activate.
- Reports of Quick Poll completions have been added to the Dashboard as a Community Statistics card and in the Currently Published Activities table.
January 2023
-
Profile Settings: Default Gender Question—The gender question has been updated to be more inclusive and now displays as:
- Gender:
-
- Male
- Female
- Non-binary
- None of the above
- Prefer not to answer
-
- If you wish to offer more inclusive options beyond these, you can ask a customized gender question in a screener or profile survey.
- Gender:
-
Support: Enhanced Search Bar Options—Moderators can now search for support tickets via the member's email address or username. This was previously searchable via the support ticket topic only.
December 2022
-
Download List—On Activities, Member Forum exports, Member Post exports, Delta Testing, and Live Chats, you can now export the main dashboard table data so that you may have a running record or list outside of the platform.
October 2022
-
Updated email templates—new, minimally-designed templates used for an Activity's "Save & Email" feature and email campaigns.
- Email subject lines and preheaders now support Unicode emojis. 😎
- Custom rewards cards now have editable images, reward names, and descriptions.
- Survey data in exports now displays similar to what is possible for exports directly in survey tools. This setting applies to both full surveys attached to an activity, shown in the Poll tab, or survey questions appended to the export, shown in multiple tabs. Display the survey data in 3 different ways:
- Regular values (default)—The values displayed to the participants in the survey and the most common data desired in an export.
- Coded values—The values the survey programmer updated in the survey tool when creating the survey. Also referred to as “reporting values”. These are utilized if performing data analysis (e.g., Strongly Agree = 5) or if there were lengthy or complex questions or options that needed summary values (e.g., How likely are you to purchase this product in the next year? = 12M Purchase Intent, Asian Pacific Islander Desi American = APIDA)
-
All values—This exports both coded and regular values columns displayed side by side, so the regular values column can act as a key of sorts for the coded values.
-
Force Private Response in Activities
- Previously, members were only able to select to leave a private response in a discussion.
- Now, a moderator can force the whole discussion to be private—enabling private threads with only the moderator within an activity (previously only available within a Diary).
- Think of this as the Diary Study capability inside of a Discussion.
- The setting appears in the Landing Page tab of activity creation.
Note: Uninfluenced Comments does not need to be enabled/does not apply if this setting is selected.
September 2022
-
Multilingual Translation—Fuel Cycle's multilingual translation feature allows moderators to program their communities in one core language. At the same time, individual community members can share the same community experience in different languages.
- Append Groups in all Export Types—You can now append Groups to all export types just as you could initially append them to member exports:
Export Type | Groups Added to These Spreadsheet Tabs |
---|---|
Activity Export |
|
Member Forum |
|
Member Posts |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
SMS |
|
- Group Membership selection displays in the “Banners” section of the request page.
- The same logic applies to all export types: You can only include 10 groups in your export.
- Requesting Group membership data will appear in the same order as when requested in member exports, before the P2 Engine selection.
- Group membership data will also appear in your data in the same place it appears in members exports, before the P2 Engine data columns.
PLEASE NOTE: Group membership in member exports is near the “Filters” section of the request page and it is in the “Banners” section of all other export request pages.
Group membership filtering is not an applicable feature of other export types, so this is not included in other Group membership sections.
August 2022
-
Quantitative Reporting: Added Filter by Member Group—Quantitative Reporting allows you to visualize and report on any Qualtrics, Alchemer, or Ignition survey that is fielded in a Fuel Cycle community. You can now filter your results to include or exclude only members in a certain dynamic or static group.
- Gamification Updates—We've made some minor adjustments to the Gamification Rewards Management screen to enhance our ability to provide more reward vendors. Internal Rewards are now called Custom Rewards. We've updated the user experience to make things more consistent and logical.
-
Display Coded Question and Answer Values in Survey Data in Exports—Survey exports from the platform now display a second column for each question which shows the coded value for both the question (often called question alias) and answers (often called recoded value)
If there was a question Alias, the actual Alias provided will display in the column (see column I below). If there was not a question alias, it will display as [Question Text]_Coded in the column (see column K below).
July 2022
- Integrate Delta Testing into your Workflow with Zapier—Your Delta Testing project can integrate into any of 5000 applications using Zapier as a conduit. For example, your continuous product tracking receives feedback about a bug and you want to accelerate product improvement. You can craft an automated workflow that notifies your internal Slack channel and generates or updates a Jira bug ticket as soon as possible.
-
Mark Support Messages as Unread—Change a support message back to an unread status. If a moderator needs to reassign a ticket to another moderator, they can reassign the ticket, then mark it as unread so that the second moderator will get notified that they have a support ticket to respond to.
June 2022
-
Member Validation Feature Enhancement—Moderators may manually verify members to bypass mobile verification for reward redemption.
Moderators can enable mobile phone verification for All, Suspicious users, or None.
-
P2 Engine Data Formatting in Exports–Fields Dynamically Format by Expanded & Not Expanded Setting.
- P2 data and Polls now display in all exports dynamically based on how the field was set up—to expand or not expand (multi-select vs. single select).
- You do not need to export two files to get the data you need! Fuel Cycle recently put all P2 fields on the important tabs in exports, so they’re no longer only on the “Members” tab.

Activities Page Tab Order Updates: We have updated the main activities page tabs to be in a more thematic order: Activity types (Activities, Member Forums & Posts, Delta Testing, Live Chats), activity elements (Events, FC Live, Video Analysis), settings (Categories, Topics, Featured & Sorting Asset Library).
-
Activity Creation—Surveys Step Order Update: The Surveys/Polls tab is now the second step in the activity programming order to be more intuitive to when surveys/polls are typically seen by members.
-
Activity Creation—Action & Points Step Minor Design Update: There is a new separator under the setting of the max points. While this may seem minor, the UI change means to help new moderators understand this setting impacts the others below it, an element that has been a bit of a learning curve before.
-
Profile Point Creation—Programming Order & Copy Update: The order of options when programming a profile point is updated to have Info, Type, and Source first and Settings last to match the order in which moderators program. The previous order required moderators to scroll to the bottom of the page as their second step.
There is also a copy update indicating that the “Expand answers as separate fields for pushed data” should be selected for multi-select options to make this setting easier to understand.
- Digital Project Request Form: We have developed a new project request form that provides real-time credit estimates for both Ignition and custom research projects. We hope you like the new design and request process. Please share this public link with other stakeholders within your organization. As always, let your Fuel Cycle account lead know if you have any questions or feedback.
- Enhancement to P2 Engine Data in Exports: When a Moderator selects “Include P2 Engine” in export, the P2 fields will now appear in all applicable tabs where the data would be needed (e.g., Survey data, Comments, Polls, etc.). Previously this data was only displayed on the Members tab of an export.
- Open Ends in Discovery Quant Reporting: Moderator and Client accounts can now view all open ends directly in the quant report. These were previously only available via file download. Visit the Discovery tab and find a survey with text responses to check it out!
- Activity Card Description: This field has moved from the bottom of the Activity Details step to just below the Activity Title. This change will improve moderators’ programming flow.
- Step Renaming: There are a few minor label changes to the steps in activity creation, most notably the Description step is now Landing Page — this label is more appropriate for its functionality.
- Attach Surveys Default Setting: The default setting when attaching a survey is now set to “Force member to take the survey before continuing to the activity landing page”. This is both the most common and our recommended setting.
April 2022
- Member Status Label Closed is now Dormant: The functionality of this member status has not changed, we’ve just updated the label to more accurately reflect said functionality. Visit the ! icon within the Members tab to learn more.
-
Activity Action Archive/Unarchive is now Lock/Unlock: We’ve updated the label to more accurately reflect what the setting does. Visit the ! icon within the Activities tab to learn more.
Recruitment URLs Enhancement: Download up to 1 million unique links into one .csv file. Visit the ! icon within the Recruitment URLs page to learn more. - P2 Engine Enhancement: Apply the auto-create feature to any additional source added. This will save you time on updating profile fields. Visit an existing P2 field to see it in action.
Previous Updates
Recently, custom profile questions were moved to a new section in “Surveys” called “Polls” which includes a list of both predefined and custom questions.
Polls are defined as one-question polls that can currently only be used in profile/account settings, but shortly, these questions can be embedded in other areas of the community. All polls can be used in Profile Points, which is why these are grouped in the Polls section.
Polls consist of two types:
-
Predefined
- These are the predefined demographic questions, such as marital and job status.
- Predefined questions cannot be edited, but are now listed on this page because they are part of Polls and can be used in Profile Points.
-
Custom
- These are now created from the newly-renamed Polls section.
- Custom questions can only be used in profile settings at this time.
- In the future, these questions can be embedded into activities, homepage, live chat, and campaigns.
Update to Profile Settings
- The show in-profile icon has been removed from this page. To show a profile question in the profile to all users, you will need to create a Profile Point with the question as a source and select “Show in Profile”
NOTE: Moderator and clients will see all profile questions when viewing a user’s profile in the community (even questions not set to show in profile).
- If you want members to be able to view a profile question, you must create a Profile Point and select “Show in Profile” as described above.
- Adding survey questions to embed to the user profile has been removed from the Profile Settings page. You will now need to create a profile point and select “Push as embedded data” to achieve this.
- In addition, the Force Qualtrics panel update has been moved to the Surveys landing page. You’ll see a button for “Force Qualtrics Panel Update”.
- When you select it, a message will display confirming the panel update has been initiated and will run at midnight. After the update runs, this message will be removed.
