The Moderated Insights view in FC Qual displays participant session results from moderated studies. Use it to review performance metrics, session recordings, AI summaries, individual session insights, clips, and highlight reels.
From the Studies section in the left navigation, select the moderated study you want to review. On the study's home page, click the Activities tile to view recordings and insights. You will land on the Sessions tab.
Sessions Tab
The Sessions tab is the default landing page when you open a moderated study's activity view. After at least one interview has been recorded, use the Summary, Recordings, Clips, and Highlight Reels tabs to view reporting.
Summary Tab
The Summary tab shows study-level performance and overall insights across all interviews.
Performance Metrics display:
- Created on date
- Device type
- Total sessions needed
- Completed sessions
- Average session time
AI Study Summary pulls key takeaways and themes across all interviews in the project. Each takeaway includes supporting quotes from your interviews. Click the play icon to the right of a quote to jump to that moment in the session recording.
If an AI summary cannot be generated, the message displays: "AI summary not available."
Actions dropdown (upper right):
- Edit Study
- Invite Participants
- Mark As Completed
- Delete Study
The Start Session button is also available to begin a new moderated session.
Recordings Tab
The Recordings tab provides access to completed moderated session recordings.
The table lists:
- Participant Name
- Researcher Name
- Duration
- Date
- Status
- Watch (play link, when available)
- Action (delete icon)
For interviews that were not recorded, the participant's name, interview length, and play link will not be available.
Additional controls above the table include:
- Upload Video button — use this to add recordings captured outside of FC Qual
- All Sessions dropdown filter
Pagination is displayed below the table.
The Start Session button and Actions dropdown are also available in this tab.
Session Recording Page
Clicking the play link for a session opens the session recording page, where you can view the recording, transcript, notes, clips, and AI insights.
Recording Player
The session recording displays on the left side of the screen.
Transcript
Below the recording, the session transcript plays alongside the video. Toggle Auto Scroll to have the transcript follow along as the recording plays.
To translate the transcript, click the translate button (second from the right above the transcript), then select your desired language.
The three-dot menu above the transcript includes options to:
- Copy the transcript as text
- Download the transcript as a Word document
- Download the video recording
Notes
Notes recorded by the moderator or observers during the live session are shown on the right side of the screen, with each note time-stamped.
You can add new notes while watching the recording, and each note will be time-stamped when saved.
- Edit a note — click the pencil icon in the upper right of the note, make changes in the pop-up text window, then click Update.
- Delete a note — click the delete icon on the note.
Clips
Create clips from the recording using either method:
- Click the scissors icon in the transcript at the point where you want the clip to begin.
- Click the Create Clip button below the transcript.
Both options open a pop-up to configure the clip. You can highlight transcript text to define the clip range, or manually enter start and end times from the original recording. Click Create Clip to save.
For each clip, you can share a link or generate an embed code. Use the pencil icon to edit a clip and the delete icon to remove it.
AI Insights
The AI Insights section identifies key pain points and delight points from the individual session.
Clips Tab
The Clips tab displays clips created across all sessions in the study.
Highlight Reel
Select clips to include in a highlight reel.
Actions Menu
The Actions menu is consistent across tabs and contains:

System Notes
- AI summaries require recordings with clear transcriptions to generate.
- For sessions not recorded in FC Qual, participant names, interview length, and the play link will not be available. You can upload externally recorded video to the study from the Recordings tab.

- Pagination appears even when a single result is displayed.
- Moderated session results include researcher names and session upload options, which are not available in unmoderated results.
